Maths degree enrolments at ‘lower tariff’ universities have declined, and mathematics degree programmes have been cut. This is threatened the diversity of the maths workforce and our teacher pipeline.

Funding for mathematical sciences research continues to fall and we desperately need more PhD studentships and investment in foundational research.
