UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) has published its report into deepening university-investor links, led by Tony Hickson, Chief Business Officer at Cancer Research UK.

The report argues that there is an opportunity to further economic growth by realising the full potential of the UK research base across the country.

Universities are identified as a key component in this given their role in delivering the Industrial Strategy. The report urges that they are appropriately funded and resourced to foster collaboration with one another as well as with external venture builder and investment organisations.

The report makes 20 recommendations, including: boosting financial resourcing for pre-incorporation funding, improving access to scale-up finance, and strengthening early investor engagement.

The full report is available to download here.
