Help maths to help the UK – in the media

The Maths Week Parliamentary Expo has featured in mathematics publication Plus Magazine, who joined us in Parliament’s Terrace Pavilion as the maths community came together to demonstrate the value of the mathematical sciences to the UK economy.

 

With big data, AI and technology reshaping all aspects of the economy, Plus Magazine writes that mathematics’ interdisciplinary nature was on full display at the Expo. Speakers and exhibitors explained just how essential maths is to addressing challenges in the economy and society.

 

However, if the UK is to continue its legacy of nurturing globally-recognised research and maths talent, attendees heard that Government must invest in the mathematical sciences to help grow the economy and spur frontier research to solve our most complex problems.
